I love sgraffito, and I reallly love the pot that is your favorite, too. I've never seen anything like it. I might have bid on it if I had been there. Good thing I wasn't! I'm sure I wouldn't be able to afford it.
I bought a horsehair piece from a potter in Crestone, CO. He described his technique to me. I love the randomness of it. The hair will burn outside of your control. That last moment's ceding of control is my kind of art.
I am impressed that you know where Crestone is, let alone that you bought a piece of pottery there. Coincidentally, one of my all-time favorite clay sculptors lives in Crestone.
I have a Crestone post I've been sitting on. It's a strange place, I think in a good way, though my two visits were not enough to confirm either way, and of course there is the legacy of Mother Love, a truly verified mentally ill human being elevated as a cult leader by exploitative and other ill humans and documentarians. They have as you know a killer cafe with outrageously good eggs and smoothies and tables that force you to talk to strangers about Mother Love and other curiosities of the ethereal world. And a dude who owns a torquoise mine. Crestone has so much to offer.

Thank you, Ramona. I was tempted, sorely tempted.

These are just amazing. I like your favorite too.
Thank you, Jenn.
The pueblo tribe of New Mexico throw some of the meanest playing anywhere, ever. I love that there's a theme to each nations work.
Amazing work!!!
